Mastering Built Green: From 2018 WSEC to Net Zero Homes

Mastering Built Green: From 2018 WSEC to Net Zero Homes

Join industry leaders in Built Green 5-Star homes, Norm DesRosiers and Jake Evans of TC Legend Homes and Anthony Maschmedt of Dwell Development, for a deep dive into high-performance construction. Through a moderated discussion, they will explain how to build net zero homes for only 4.5% more than your current construction costs.

You will walk away with a list of practical techniques and technologies that you can apply to reach—then exceed—the 2018 WSEC to build net zero homes. The discussion will cover how these cost-effective strategies can upgrade a new construction or remodel and provide additional value, without sacrificing profits.

Furthermore, hear how building well-designed, high-performance homes future-proofs your operations against increasing demands of the WSEC. Following the panel, time will be provided to get your individual questions answered by our industry leaders.

Meet Your Panelists

Jake Evans

Jake Evans, Moderator, TC Legend Homes

Jake Evans has a BA in Architecture from the Manchester School of Architecture and a background in designing and modeling houses, with over 23 years of experience. He is the lead designer of TC Legend Homes and Powerhouse Designs and has helped to develop and promote a market-rate net-zero/net-positive carbon-neutral housing proposition that is logical and affordable (and always Built Green certified). Always thinking, always improving, always keeping the sizes small, following the strong belief that everyone should be able to afford to live in a healthy home that does not damage the planet!

Norm DesRosiers

Norm DesRosiers, Panelist, TC Legend Homes

Norm DesRosiers built his first cabin in the Southeast Alaskan woods with his mother at the age of 14. It still stands there today. He lived with his family off-grid as a young adult and this was when he believes the seed was planted in his mind to find a sustainable way to live without constantly draining valuable resources. He has over 20 years working in the building industry. Norm was the owner and founder of his own construction company for many years before meeting his business partner Ted Clifton inside the sustainable building circles of the Pacific Northwest. Today he is co-owner of TC Legend Homes, an affordable housing construction business that builds net-zero, carbon-neutral homes, and PowerHouse Designs, the design service of TC Legend Homes. "We build homes that create more energy than they use because it feels like our part in doing the right thing for the planet and the generations that will follow."
