The Renton City Council has adopted a resolution to extend ADU fee reductions for a new period, now sunsetting on Dec. 31, 2020.

On Oct. 16, 2017, the city council adopted Resolution 4318 to reduce development fees applicable to all ADUs by half. The resolution also waived all fees for every third ADU created within a new subdivision of 10 or more lots. Fees include transportation and parks impact fees, utility system development charges, and land use review and building fees. View the resolution and a complete list of the fees being waived.

Within one year of adoption, the city has doubled the number of ADUs created during the previous seven years.
