The Snohomish County Council’s Planning Committee has passed out MBAKS’ priority Lot Size Averaging Ordinance. On February 12, the Council will set the time and date for the public hearing; that could come as early as February 26.

The primary benefits of the legislation are to eliminate conflicting code provisions, eliminate the potential for counting right-of-way twice when utilizing lot size averaging, and to establish in code that private roads may be considered in lot size averaging similar to public roads. Ordinance 20-005 and related documents are available for your review.
