Chief Economist, NAHB

As Chief Economist for NAHB, Robert's responsibilities include housing market analysis, forecasting and industry surveys, and housing policy research. Prior to joining NAHB in 2005, he worked as an economist for the Congressional Joint Committee on Taxation. He has testified before Congress on housing, economic, and tax issues. He is a leading expert on home construction analysis and trends and has been cited and appeared in media including CNBC and the Wall Street Journal.

National Director of Professional Development, Metrostudy, a Hanley Wood Company

Phillip Rassel joined Metrostudy as the director of the Atlanta market in 1996. In 2004, he joined the senior management team to help guide and manage the company's expansion across the country and was elevated to senior vice president in 2013. Earlier in his career, Rassel was a private placement syndication underwriter with MGIC Investment Corp.; a project analyst for Wilma, the largest developer in the Netherlands; risk manager for GE Capital; and senior consultant at KPMG. Rassel also worked for Fannie Mae negotiating mortgage-backed security contracts. He holds a master's in Real Estate and Urban Affairs from Georgia State University.
